- Campsites have busy summer of bookings ahead
- August 17, 2009 | 0 Responses
According to the Caravan and Camping Club, campsites and caravan parks are receiving a well-needed boost this summer.
The reason behind this influx of visitors seem to be down to the recession. As more and more Brits are struggling to afford to go abroad this year, they are choosing to enjoy holidays closer to home. A cheap way of doing this is of course going camping either in your caravan, motorhome or tent.Another reason the caravan and camping parks are booming is because foreign tourists such as Americans and Europeans are flocking to Britain to take full advantage of the weak pound.
Bookings at campsites in Scotland have reportedly increased by 18%.
Colin Fraser, chairman of the British Holiday and Home Park Association said it was a similar picture across the country. He said, “I don’t think there is a park in Scotland that is not doing well. Things are so good at the moment that if people who are buying touring caravans and tents don’t book before they go somewhere, they’re quite likely to be disappointed because a lot of parks are full.”
It is imperative that your camping equipment and touring caravans are fully insured when you are holidaying this year, whether this is in the UK or abroad. E&L Insurance offer both camping insurance and touring caravan insurance.
E&L Touring Caravan Insurance starts from as little as £4.10 a month where you are covered 100% for fire, theft, accidental damage and loss. There are many perks with E&L Insurance, including up to 50% discount off Haven and British Holidays once you become a caravan policyholder. Visit www.eandl.co.uk/caravan.
E&L camping insurance costs just £1.40 a month. Replacement hire, European use for up to 90days a year, personal accident and public liability up to £2 million are all included as standard in your camping policy.Visit www.eandl.co.uk/camping to find out more information or to take out a policy online today!
