As winter fast approaches, it is important to check your equestrian insurance policy. Equestrian winter sports involve more risk than summer pursuits. Winter activities include hunting, point to point and team chasing. E&L Insurance cover all of these activities in their ‘Type of use 2′ equine insurance policies.
E&L equine insurance are advising equestrians to make sure that they have taken out a sufficient policy for their winter needs. E&L equine insurance offer two different types of cover depending on the activities that you choose to partake in. ‘Type use 1′ include hacking, showing, dressage, riding club events and ‘Type use 2′ includes higher risk activities such as hunting, eventing, endurance and long distance riding to name but a few. Once you have chosen the type of use cover you need, you then need to select the amount of cover required. This will depend upon the value of your horse and the level of cover you require. E&L equine insurance offer four different cover levels: Essential, Intermediate Value, Intermediate and Premier. Cover is available for vet fees, death of horse, public liability, personal accident, loss of use, saddlery and tack, stables cover and dental cover.
E&L Insurance advise you to double check what you actually insured your horse for as quite often riders vary their equestrian pursuits and sometimes horse riders are caught out by the cover they actually have taken out.
