One celebrity who may have an angling insurance policy is talk-show host Rosie O'Donnell.

The star seems to be a fan of fishing, as newly published pictures of her posing with a dead hammerhead shark have sparked controversy.

Environmentalists have blasted the 49-year-old, who can be seen with her family in the snap, for posing with the endangered beast taken during a fishing trip off the South Florida coast.

Sarasota marine conservationist and leader of the campaign against O'Donnell Erik Brush said: "Right now sharks are the most endangered animals around. This is basically an endorsement. It sends the message that it's an OK activity."

The picture emerged after it was placed on Miami-based fisherman Mark 'The Shark' Quartiano's website along with the title 'This Month's Celebrity Angler'.

O'Donnell is not only known for role as a chat show host but also for her work as a comedian in shows such as Curb Your Enthusiasm and Drop Dead Diva.
