Colourful decorations are a key theme of weddings this summer, according to one expert.
Claire Gould, editor of English Wedding Blog, explained how bright shades are a popular trend for 2012.
In particular, flowers in rainbow shades are a common choice for many brides, with ladies keen to have "eclectic" tones put together.
It was noted that "eye-catching bouquets, table centrepieces and floral displays" are regular themes at wedding venues and churches.
Ms Gould described how the countryside is a source of inspiration for many couples, with wildflowers and natural gardens providing plenty of ideas.
Another trend for 2012 include lace, with dresses featuring this material on sleeves, back panels and shrug accessories.
Meanwhile, hairpieces featuring feathers, vintage detailing and beads are also said to be on trend.
Wedding insurance customers may also like to note that pastel shades are a good way to introduce this summer's vintage theme, according to student liaison officer at the Wedding Planner School Georgina Way.
