- 40% of Brides-to-be want to lose weight before their wedding

A survey conducted by a leading insurance company showed that 40% of brides-to-be want to slim down before they tie the knot. Brides-to-be living in London seem to be the most relaxed about their preparations and do not feel the pressure to lose as much weight as other brides around the country. Brides on average look to lose 8lb and 12% of those questioned want to lose a staggering two stone before walking down the aisle. Is this due to the pressure of looking thin, the worry that the wedding photos will be forever or simply is it a good excuse to shift your excess weight? There appears to be more pressure on women to lose weight than men. Men on average want to lose 5lbs before they tie the knot. Scots appeared to be the most image conscious with one in five wanting to lose more than two stone. Scots also look to spend more time on wedding and lifestyles preparations for the wedding. Despite these revelations, a significant amount of people were happy with how they looked – 58% of men and 36% of women surveyed had no intention of losing weight at all.
Losing weight may be high up on a bride and grooms criteria before they marry but they should also look after the pounds in their pockets by taking out wedding insurance. E&L offer eight bands of cover for wedding insurance, depending on your wedding budget. The cost of the wedding deciphers which band you fall into. Wedding insurance from E&L offers you cover for cancellation and 50% re-arrangement costs, which also covers redundancy. Wedding insurance also covers your supplier deposits should they go into administration. Cover is also available for wedding attire, photographers, wedding transport, the cake and the flowers plus much more.
