Golf insurance customers may be shocked to hear about a robbery at Davyhulme Park Golf Club.

The Manchester Evening News reports how two men confronted a man with a machete before demanding cash.

Described as white and in their late 20s to early 30s, the pair brandished the weapon and forced the victim inside the club house where he was forced to hand over a substantial amount of money.

Detective constable Chris Aunins from Trafford CID said: “Although the victim was not hurt, he has lost a lot of confidence and is struggling to go about his daily business.”

Police are appealing for information about the two men, who were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas and believed to have local accents.

They fled the scene in a silver X-type Jaguar, which they stole during the raid on May 19th.

Elsewhere, the Detroit Free Press recently reported how six golf carts were stolen from Pinecroft Golf Club in Benzonia after thieves cut a security cable.
