One club may be forced to claim on their golf insurance following a break-in that resulted in £1,600 worth of equipment being stolen.
The Hull Daily Mail reports how thieves have targeted Hull Golf Club three times in as many months.
In the latest incident, 400 gallons of diesel was taken, while power tools and gardening equipment were removed during the previous two robberies.
Green keeper Steve Thackery commented: "We have to immediately replace anything which is taken to keep on top of things – that costs money.
"It just seems to be relentless."
Each robbery has seen storage areas broken into after locks and steel doors have been damaged using bolt-cutters and steel saws.
Local police have appealed for anyone with information about the crime or the whereabouts of the equipment to come forward.
Hull Golf Club was the first club in the city and was founded in 1904 by nine golfers from the surrounding area.
