- Team of Rowers Break 114 Year Old Record

A team of 4 rowers have broken a century old record rowing 3,400 miles across the North Atlantic in a 23-foot long boat called ‘Artemis Investments’.
The group of men were skippered by Leven Brown, from Scotland, who was joined by Ray Carroll, from Ireland, and Lyvar Nystad from the Faro Islands.
The team completed the voyage in just less than 44 days, beating the previous record set by Norwegian Fishermen George Harbo and Frank Samuelsen by 11 days.
They crossed the finish line at St Mary’s Harbour in the Scilly Isles to enter the record books having experienced swampings, strong winds, 30ft waves and with two of the group even being thrown overboard into the cold waters of the Atlantic.
Speaking of his delight at completing the epic voyage, Brown Said:
“It’s a great, great day. I’m very proud of the lads and everybody involved in the boat and proud of the boat, she’s taken a hammering. I’m just really proud to be a part of it.”
The previous record had been set in 1896 and was believed to be the longest standing record in any extreme sport.
