- Prince of Wales launches the Ryder Cup

The prince began his Royal visit with a tour of the venue clubhouse and in the spirit of the prestigious event, the heir to the throne tried his hand at golf. After a few failed attempts, a 12 year old golfer, Frankie Jones stepped up to show the prince how its done.
Later the prince took a trip to Cardiff Castle where he dined with the golfer. The Prince ended his day with at a concert presented by Steve Jones with star studded appearances from Catherine Jenkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
At the concert Prince Charles took to the stage and highlighted the important of the Ryder Cup whilst emphasising its benefits to the Welsh economy. He added,” But it will also put this very special country on the television screens of a worldwide audience. My thoroughly impartial best wishes to all the competitors.”
